It is 2026. Cybertron has awakened into a tactical nightmare, anchored by the dark Titan Vigilem at the "Black Scar" as the ancient Liege Maximo exerts a corruptive influence across the planetary substrate. While the Autobots and Decepticons are spread thin dealing with a planet-wide blockade by this "Prime of Lies," the conflict has ignited across the local group.
On Nebulos, the tyrannical Hive has shifted to a total war footing, protecting the nearly operational Scorponok Titan with a human-shield perimeter of thousands in stasis. The Nebulan Resistance hangs by a thread against advanced cyberkinesis and Thunderwing’s "New Breed" of bio-mechanical hybrids. Meanwhile, Earth has become a primary theater for the Counter-M.A.S.S. race, even as Cobra Commander faces a subtle internal coup from the bio-mechanical clone Serpent-OR and his New Coil. From the "Resonance Storms" of Iacon to the "Wraith-Slip" ambushes of Splendora, the universe has become a powder keg of biological and mechanical warfare.
