Eden Limited takes place in a cyberpunk-style retrofuture: the game is set in the current year, but as imagined in the past. We use a unique timeline which diverges from real-world history after 1969 (the year of both the first moon landing and the establishment of ARPANET, what could be considered the birth of the Internet). The future is now -- Blade Runner, for instance, was set in 2019, a year which must have seemed far off to viewers in 1982, but now feels positively dated. If you're someone who happened to grow up in the 20th century, remember how distant and cool that phrase "the year 2000" used to sound? That's the vibe we're going for.
